Our Staff

The People

A camp can be made or broken by the staff that volunteers. Our staff is made up of a group of loving and dedicated Christ followers who are excited to be at camp and serve our campers. We have counselors, directors, nurses, cooks, lifeguards, crafters, snackers, and teachers to name a few of the roles. Each plays an important part in making camp a success each year. Below you can meet some of our staff that you are most likely to interact with in preparation for camp and while camp is in session.

We also pay respect to those who have led camp in the past and helped shape it into what it is today.

Our Current Camp Crew

Greg Hawkins,

Camp Director

Our camp director is full of energy and always ready to go! Mr. Greg, affectionally called “Ol’ Greg” or “Odu”, is an elder at Chapel Hill Church of Christ and has an affinity for all things camp. Mr. Greg loves directing Bible Hour at Chapel Hill and Camp and loved helping organize the Basketball League in White Bluff. Years of experience working with kids, being in different roles at camp, and a general love of Christ and kids makes Mr. Greg a great fit for the Camp Director at MSBC!

Beth Dawson,

Executive Assistant

Every successful organization or event has someone who is working in the background to make sure things don’t fall through the cracks. Mrs. Beth is that person leading up to camp and at registration each year. When you register for camp she is the one who will likely be answering your questions, checking your registration, taking payments, and making sure that nothing is missing. If you have a camp question she probably has the answer and if not, she can tell you who to ask!

Casey Ealy,

Head Nurse

Nurse Casey is our head of nursing at Midsummer Bible Camp. Her bag of medicines and cures is known to ease tummy aches and cure homesickness. When you check-in at camp she’ll review the medications and talk to you about your camper’s medical concerns. Nurse Ealy is in charge of administering medications and taking care of injuries. She is supported by a great team of other medical providers that assist her as needed throughout the week of camp.
