Some of the most frequently forgotten items are rain coats, long sleeve shirts, and long pants. It can get cool at night and early in the morning at camp.

Some of the most important items that all campers should bring to camp are:

-Bible

-Swimwear

-Running Shoes and Shower Shoes (No Flip-Flops)

-Flashlight or Head Lamp

-Shampoo, Soap, Deodorant, Toothpaste, Toothbrush (With Shower Caddy)

-Sunscreen and Bug Spray

-Towels (recommend 2, 1 for the pool/creek trek and 1 for their shower)

-Small Fan for the Cabin at night (extension cord may be needed as well)

-Bedding (Sheets, Blankets or Sleeping Bag, Pillow)

-Modest Clothing (fingertip length shorts)

-Ball Caps and cheap Sunglasses

Cellphones are discouraged at camp and will not be allowed to be used during the day. Radios, iPods, and portable electronics are not permitted for campers. This is to ensure that campers privacy is respected and to encourage campers to get outside of their phone and get involved in camp!

All of the camp staff are volunteers. Camp staff take their time off from work to come to camp. Our counselors come from all walks of life with one thing in common: a love of God and desire to share his love. Everyone involved with the campers have been background checked.

Church camp is traditionally a camp that is run by one or more churches. Church camps generally create an exciting atmosphere for school age kids and adolescents to learn about Jesus while playing games and having fun. This is generally done in an outdoor setting. Midsummer Bible Camp fits this category well, in fact, you’ll here staff members, previous campers, and camp parents refer to MSBC as church camp. Our goal is to spread the knowledge and love of Christ to the younger generations.

We will use the NIV version at camp. However, whichever Bible the camper can read is what they can bring! Most of what the campers see in their camp book will be NIV but that doesn’t mean they can’t bring a different version to compare! If a camper is looking for a new Bible and you are wondering about reading levels and Bible versions then this may help you out. Keep in mind, most adults read at a tenth grade level.

Midsummer Bible Camp is for all kids from 9 years old to 12th grade! The majority of our campers come from Dickson and Cheatham County but we have campers travel from across Tennessee to join in on camp!

No. The cabins have screen windows and door, and most have large ventilation slats on two sides of the cabin. Campers will not spend a lot of time in the cabins aside from sleeping at night. Campers are encouraged to bring a small fan for the cabin at night. Campers are not allowed to stay in the cabins throughout the day. Occasionally classes may be held within a cabin.

Camp starts on Sunday afternoon and ends Friday morning by 11:00 am. 4 full days, 5 nights, 14 meals, 8 classes, 4 worship services, and 4 Bible Hours.

Campers should be picked up between 10:00 am and 11:00 am on Friday of camp week. Please contact your camper’s counselor(s) or the camp director if you are going to be late.

We normally assign 2 counselors to every cabin so this generally allows a ratio of 10:2 (5:1) with the occasional 12:2 (6:1). Rarely, we have 1 counselor per cabin which gives us a ratio of 10:1.

Each night we have a different theme at supper time! Campers are encouraged to dress-up for each of these nights. The themes nights are new and holiday related this year! Monday is Valentine ‘s Day, Tuesday is Cinco De Mayo, Wednesday is 4th of July, and Thursday is Christmas!
